Within this post I will show you a real life example of how I improved website performance by 69% within an hour.
Starting point:
to this:
This is a wordpress website using the Astra Theme & Elementor Builder. I replaced 1 caching plugin & also repointed the domain which delivered the above results within an hour.
I will build a video of how to actually execute this shortly.
I first installed and configured my personal favourite Caching Plugin which is Nitropack. I have clients who are on the paid version (£18.42 per month) & on the free version (like myself). The install of this is very simple.
Next I route the domain through Cloudflare. Cloudflare is a global network designed to make everything you connect to the Internet secure, private, fast, and reliable. When I configure Cloudflare I also minify the code. Minify is how to make your website smaller and faster to load by minifying the JS and CSS code.
A bonus point here is to reformat your pictures into WebP format. This means it will load quicker and Google loves that! WebP is an image format employing both lossy and lossless compression. This will mean pulling all your pictures down to your workstation and then loading them up 1 by 1. I use this free service to convert my images. this format also means you will not need to run the image through a compression service like Tinypng.com.
I’ll build video shortly…
I have another example of how I improved an e-commerce site by 20% within 24 hours. This site remains a work in progress.
